Stop Judging, You Dumb F*@&

Alright, let's be honest. We are all guilty of judging. I personally love watching reality TV and that is literally the whole premise of that genre. Whether it's competition-based like The Circle or American Idol or even something like Keeping Up With the Kardashians the whole point is to judge others. To place people in a ranking, which means you view some (in fact most) people as less than, or even thinking of yourself as better than others because you could never be as stupid as them.

It doesn't even have to be other people that we judge. It can be things. Situations. Other nouns that exist. Every time you judge, you are creating an ideal that will never be lived up to. An ideal that you will never be able to live up to which creates a downward spiral because you will never be good enough.

When I started my spiritual journey I was having a very hard time figuring out what I needed to let go of. What blockages were prevalent in my life? After reading Letting Go by Dr. David R. Hawkins, my life changed. I learned that everything in my outer life is a reflection of my inner life. We are all just seeing the world through our own version of "rose-colored sunglasses." So I started paying attention to where I placed judgments on others. That's how I learned where my blockages were. And where I am continuing to learn.

You are the Universe/God/Whatever you want to call it. I am the Universe/God/Whatever you want to call it. The device you are reading this on is the Universe/God/Whatever you want to call it (some may joke technology even more so than even us). That being said, by placing judgment on others, you are judging yourself because we are all the same when it comes down to it. It's where the whole idea of "treat others how you want to be treated" comes about. I will say that phrase is a little problematic in that there is a connoted expectation of reciprocation (say that five times fast). There is nothing but disappointment when you act for the sake of an expected outcome.

This is also why it is so important to do the inner work. By changing our inner life, we change our outer life. Every single person in this world is living in a completely different reality. So go ahead and be intentional about the reality you want to live in! You have the choice to live however the heck you want. So I'm not going to judge you if you want to judge others. But by noticing when you do, you can learn a lot about your true self.
